Rosengrens cash safes are tested in different grades to protect everything that is desirable to a thief. The higher the grade, the larger values can be protected in the safe. The insurance value too is dependent on the grade. If the safe is also tested against explosion the insurance value increases.
The test norm requires the use of a combination of burglary tools that are most effective against the design. For a safe to be approved it must withstand a number of different methods of attack. The resistance is measured in resistance units, RU, a score calculated using two parameters: time and type of tool. The aim of the burglary test is to see how long it takes to get into the safe, without taking into account noise or smoke built-up.
When the safe has passed the tests, it receives a certification stating the burglary class. This is stated in Grade 0 and upwards. The certificates in the different burglary classes are achieved within the norms below.
